4 Hour Body Results

This was way too much to post on Twitter, so I decided to make this the venue where I shared my results. Earlier this year, I stepped on a scale and saw a number that I didn't like. To my dismay, all the time spent at the gym and running wasn't as effective as I would have hoped. I had to face the facts that I already was aware of: my diet had to change.

Understand that I didn't consider myself fat. I don't believe that there is an ideal weight for everyone. The concept of the Body Mass Index, or BMI, does not take a person's frame or body type into consideration. However, I knew that my weight gain was getting to a point that I had considered to be unhealthy.

I had tried fad diets before. Cramming Herbalife shakes into my life was attempted years ago. The problem was that I hated having a shake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I like eating solid foods. I love chewing on a nice piece of chicken or steak. There was no way that I could handle a diet like that.

Enter a couple of influences that helped shape my decision. Via a blog, I began reading about a book called the Four Hour Body. It is full of all sorts of information that author Timothy Ferris experimented with in order to find out what would be the most efficient way to change your body. Pretty soon, friends from church were all buying the book in order to see if this diet could produce what it had promised.

I purchased the book on my iPhone via my Kindle app. After reading the material, I was a bit skeptical. I knew that dropping bread from my diet would be an issue. No brown rice or whole grain bread either. The workout plan was minimal compared to what I was used to. A cheat day was involved that would ask me to intake a maximum amount of calories. None of it made sense at first, but I thought I would give it a shot anyways.

Here are my results after 30 days:

Total Weight Loss: 16 lbs.

Measurements taken with Measuring Tape:

Stomach Loss: 3 inches
Waist Loss: 2 inches
Arms Loss: 1 inch each
Legs Loss: 1 inch each

Measurements taken with Calipers:
Belly: Loss of 14mm
Love Handles: Loss of 30mm
Arms: Loss of 4mm
Thights: Loss of 2mm

At the end of 30 days, I must say that I am pleased with the results.  Granted, I did not lose all twenty pounds as expected, but it took longer than 30 days to put all this weight on my body. It would be foolish to think it would all wash off in an instant.  I am going to continue the diet for a few more weeks, to see if I can reach my goal.  If you would like to purchase the Four Hour Body, you can click here to buy it from Amazon.  Best $10 I've spent thus far this year.
